The INNOSID project was declared the most inclusive Erasmus + project

FER’s project “INNOSID – Innovative solutions based on new technologies to improve the social inclusion of people with disabilities” won the first prize in the competition of the Agency for Mobility and EU programs and was declared the most inclusive project of Erasmus + and the European Solidarity Force for the period from 2017 to 2020!

Application for the INNOSID project, whose leader is Jurica Babić, assistant professor from the Department of Telecommunications, was based on the next promotional film in which the goals of the project were presented in an interactive and fun way.

The main prize was a laptop, which the project team decided to donate to the Children’s Home in Nazorova, which further confirms their social sensitivity and solidarity with the most needy.

For this occasion, the project manager, Jurica Babić stated: “Recognition of the Agency for Mobility and EU Programs for the most inclusive project of the Erasmus + program and the European Solidarity Force is a testament to the continuous work of the ICT-AAC laboratory, led by Prof. Željka Car in the field of assistive technologies and assisted communication and SocialLAB laboratory, led by Prof. Vedran Podobnik. SocialLAB has been very successfully coordinating and implementing Erasmus + projects since 2015, involving students in some project activities.

The INNOSID project is also a very good training ground for associates who are in the early stages of their careers as they go through a process that allows them to exchange experiences with researchers and professors from five EU countries and professional cooperation with members of the Croatian Down Syndrome Association.

I thank the Faculty for the trust and the unique opportunity to work with my colleagues from the Department of Telecommunications on a project that allows us to harness our “FER” knowledge and skills in the development of innovative IT solutions that have a positive effect on people with disabilities.”

The winner was announced at the virtual conference “Together we are stronger”, and that the competition was impressive you can see in the video of the conference broadcast on the link here (the announcement of the winner starts around the 20th minute of the video).
