The second and final week of the INNOSOC 2016 Zagreb Workshop kicked off right after the successful first week and after the weekend packed with social events.

Eight lectures on important topics such as corporate sustainability, STEM, assisted living and smart transportation allowed students to broaden their knowledge on how they can positively impact the society as future engineers, policy makers, economists and scientists.

The cornerstone of the workshop is the multicultural environment. Practical work by Istvan Polgar included the discussion about the image of the other in the INNOSOC partner countries as well as about the challenges faced by the multicultural workforce. In free time, students met with their corresponding supervisors to fine-tune case study documents they prepared before the actual workshop. The final student presentations were held during the last two days of the workshop.

Similarly to the first week, the second week was packed with events other than ex-cathedra lectures. Namely, students enjoyed the following social events:

  • Ericsson Nikola Tesla (IT company) visit
  • Kraš (chocolate company) visit
  • billiard competition
  • Zagreb guided tour
  • karaoke
  • pub quiz
  • international evening.

During the workshop closing held by Vedran Podobnik, students gave excellent feedback regarding the INNOSOC Zagreb 2016 workshop as well as the support for the next year’s workshop which will take place in Valencia 2017.
