The first week of the INNOSOC 2016 Zagreb Workshop has swiftly come to an end. Luckily, this rather intensive but nevertheless exciting period was just a preamble to a weekend loaded with lively social events.

On Saturday, students and lecturers visited Plitvice Lakes National Park (UNESCO’s World Heritage) which is amongst Croatia’s most popular tourist attractions.

Sunday was reserved for sports. Although the initial plan was to play an outdoor sport, the organizing committee decided to organise the indoor volleyball tournament due to the poor weather forecast. The energy and level of competitiveness shown by all teams exceeded all expectations from the organizing committee. Each team represented its own country. In what proved to be a fun and stimulating event, a Croatian team managed to win the finals against Slovakia.

Final results:

1. CROATIA
2. SLOVAKIA
3. BULGARIA

Top teams were awarded INNOSOC medals during the award ceremony held at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing.

Obviously, after the exhaustive exercise comes recuperation and with the volleyball tournament there was no exception either. Students analyzed the tournament results while having an organized lunch with pizzas.

On behalf of the organizing committee, we would like to thank our member Luka Humski for providing a great support and for ensuring the tournament was a complete success!
